IAEA TC Cooperation Programme, 2020–2021

“Promoting Safety Culture and Enhancing the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Capability of Nuclear Medicine Departments” POL9025 Project was implemented under the International Atomic Energy Agency Technical Cooperation Programme in 2020-2021 (IAEA 2020–2021 Technical Cooperation Programme).

This project envisages the use of funds from the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme for activities coordinated by the National Centre for Radiation Protection. Its implementation was undertaken with the approval of the Ministry of Health and in consultation with the National Consultant in Nuclear Medicine, the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine (PTMN) and the Polish Atomic Energy Agency (PAA).

This project is addressed to 10 departments from all over Poland, selected based on recommendations of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine and National Consultant for Nuclear Medicine, and is focused on implementation of harmonised procedures in the field of quality control testing of radiology equipment used in nuclear medicine: gamma cameras, SPECT and SPECT-CT apparatus. Responding to the needs of the national nuclear medicine departments in the field of quality assurance and control, the POL9025 project has obtained funds to organise training and purchase equipment for quality control for two departments selected as reference centres
