The Polish National Centre for Radiation Protection in Health Care was formed to ensure patients' protection against using ionizing radiation  for medical purposes.

Major goals:
The Minister of Health (obliged by the Atomic Law) appointed The Polish National Centre for Radiation Protection in order to coordinate and monitor actions connected with the implementation of a current system of radiation protection in Poland.            The system ensures safe uses of ionizing radiation for medical purposes. Using advanced technology in medicine, gave a rise to continuous works on the implementation process of European Commission recommendations (in the scope of radiation protection of patients) in the Polish system of law. Moreover, we lead a scientific activity, we popularize training materials for specialists and a whole society.

Our structure and detailed tasks are regulated by: The Act of Parliament of 29 November 2000 - Atomic Law (O.J. 2007, No 42, Item 276) and relevant regulations (only regulations concerning our institution are translated).
The Minister of Health requested Polish National Centre for Radiation Protection in Health Care to prepare a project of an amendment of a Regulation of the Minister of Health of 25th August 2005 on conditions of safe uses of ionizing radiation for all types of medical exposure and we would like to inform that Polish National Centre for Radiation Protection started working on a new version of this regulation.
